A New Found Will and a Three-Legged Dog

When hiking up Mount Kearsarge on Saturday I came across a place on the trail where, when I thought I was just talking to myself, but spoke out loud, I said "THIS is where I turn back".  I was facing just steep rock.  I was concerned I would fracture something and I was hiking alone.  Then, a nice man said "You can do it, wait till you see the view!" and I looked up and also the three-legged rescue dog that had been hiking with her family ahead of me most of the trip was watching me almost protectively as if to say "you can do it".   And I did it!  Another challenge faced and I was rewarded with a breathtaking view of the valley below and so very proud of me.
